The prize Prof. Doctor Paulo de Pitta e Cunha 2017, awarded by the European Institute of the University of Lisbon, was awarded to the students Rita de Sousa Costa and Tiago Sérgio Cabral for the work entitled "The existential crisis of the European Union: essay about the realization of the European project in the framework Current geopolitical and legal-institutional challenges". The winners are finalists of the degree in Law at UMinho and collaborators of CEDU - Centre of Studies in European Union Law. Both frequently intervene at the workshops and publications of the Centre, namely in the blog associated with the magazine UNIO - EU Law Journal. For the second consecutive year, the prize distinguishes the teaching and research carried out at UMinho, highlighting in 2016 the work of Sophie Perez Fernandes, a doctoral member of CEDU. The jury was composed by Alessandra Silveira, Eduardo Paz Ferreira, Manuel Porto, Miguel Sousa Ferro, Nuno Cunha Rodrigues and Nuno Piçarra. The award ceremony will be held this Friday, May 19, at 6:00 pm, at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.
