The portuguese government appointed José Luís da Cruz Vilaça to be the next judge of the Court of Justice, succeding José Narciso Cunha Rodrigues. They are both members of CEDU's Comission of Scientifical Monitoting, whcih is also composed by Pedro Cruz Villalón, Gomes Canotilho and Miguel Poiares Maduro. 
Cruz Vilaça was president of the (anciant) Court of 1st Instance (September/1989 to September/1995) and General Attourney of the Court of Justice (January/1986 to October/1988). He has actively supported CEDU's activities, and he has participated in some of them, which is one more reason so we are so pleased and happy with the fact of him being appointed to the place. CEDU wished the future judge Cruz Vilaça the continuation of that sucessfull curricullum in Luxembourg.
