Researchers from UMinho's Centre of Studies on European Union Law (CEDU-JusGov) intervened on October 30 on the radio program "The State of the Union" (a Europe Direct partnership of Minho, Antena Minho, Correio do Minho). In addition to Alessandra Silveira, resident commentator of the said program and holder of the UMinho Jean Monnet Chair in EU Law, the October edition was attended by Carlos Abreu Amorim, professor of EDUM and former Member of the Portuguese Parliament..
Economic, social and territorial cohesion is linked to the harmonious development of the European Union as a whole and is essentially achieved through regional policy. In the October program, stakeholders sought to clarify the extent to which European funds affect citizens' daily lives, and to clarify why strengthening cohesion is the antidote to the disintegrating forces that overshadow European integration.
The radio program "The State of the Union" will air on the last Wednesday of each month and is intended to discuss European news. The conversation is usually moderated by Alzira Costa, coordinator of the Minho Europe Direct Information Center, and by Paulo Monteiro, director of Radio Antena Minho.
The program is broadcast via Radio Antena Minho (106.0 FM) and can be followed through the Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/antenaminho/videos/2791507410899462/) and the radio channel on YouTube (https: / /www.youtube.com/watch?v=_H9PV-9f0Gw).
