Short Course: Data Protection in the European Union 4th Edition - February 26 to March 2, 2018 Place: headquarters of the Legal Association of Braga Organization: JurisNova, CEDU and Associação Jurídica de Braga
After three editions in Lisbon in 2017, the fourth edition of the Short Course on Data Protection in the European Union will take place in Braga, at the headquarters of the Legal Association of Braga, from February 26 to March 2, 2018 (Monday through Friday) from 6 pm to 9 pm. On the eve of the entry into force of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679)] issues such as Big data, data breaches, international data transfers or the role of data protection officer (provided for in Article 37 of the Regulation, mandatory in case the processing of data is carried out by a public authority or body as well as by several private entities).
GENERAL PRESENTATION
The course has a total of 15 hours and is structured in two modules:
i) Module A (basic): general introduction to data protection, which aims to present, in a generic way, the normative framework of protection of personal data created by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of April 27, 2016;
ii) Module B (advanced): 21st century data protection, which will address specific issues of today's importance such as the 21st century threats to personal data protection, the Big Data and the Passenger Name Record.
