Whenever a senior researcher visits CEDU, the Directorate of the Center promotes its interaction with researchers working in related fields, especially with the young ones, by organizing workshops with the guests. This practice results from CEDU's commitment to the FCT, and it is intended to be intimate, about 10-15 researchers in interaction, in an exchange of experiences and perspectives based on a theme proposed by the guest.

The first workshop, organized in 2016, took place on February 5 and covered the themes of "Citizenship and jurisdictional tutelage", with Professor Caterina Baruffi of the University of Verona, Italy, as the guest.

The second wokshop took place on March 17 and addressed issues related to "Public Policies and Crime", with Professor Rogério Leal (University of Santa Cruz do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil), as well as the Chief of Staff Of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Dr. Jorge Costa.

The third workshop was held on May 17 and was entitled "Market Relations and Fundamental Rights", with the participation of Professor Isabel Espín (University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain), as well as Professor Ricardo Hermany (University of Santa Cruz do Sul , Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil).

The fourth workshop was held on July 15 and covered the theme "Internal Market, Competition and Regulation", with Professor Ana Tobío of the University of Vigo, Spain, as well as Professors Isabel Lirola and Isabel Espín, both from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

The fifth workshop, entitled "Legal-Constitutional Integration and European Political Community", took place on December 6, 2015, with the participation of Professors Nuno Piçarra (New University of Lisbon), Paulo Cruz (University of Vale do Itajaí, Santa Catarina, Brazil) and Teresa Freixes (Autonomous University of Barcelona).

The contributions presented in the context of the CEDU workshops give rise to a publication / e-book published the following year.
