Members of the INTEROP project intervene in the "V Conference on Human Rights"

Members of the INTEROP project - Alessandra Silveira, Pedro Froufe and Joana Abreu - participated in the panel "Privacy and protection of personal data" within the scope of the "V Conference on Human RIghts" ("V Jornadas de Direitos Humanos"), organized by the Human Rights Master's Degree at the University of Minho.

The panel in question was also attended by João Marques, a member of the Portuguese National Data Protection Commission, and took place in the noble auditorium of the University of Minho Law School on 22 May.

The human/fundamental right to the protection of personal data has been approached in a multilevel (international, regional, national) perspective, especially taking into account the imperatives of transparency in the processing of personal data in the face of the challenges of automatic learning. The first year of application of the General Regulation on Data Protection (RGPD) in the European Union, as well as the (legislative) implementation of the RGPD in Portugal was under discussion.
