Mariana Canotilho, collaborating member of CEDU, was elected judge for the Constitutional Court
 

The Assembly of the Portuguese Republic elected Mariana Canotilho as the new Judge of the Constitutional Court. The Researcher is a Collaborating Member of the Centre of Studies in European Union Law (CEDU) of UMinho since its creation in 2010 and has participated actively in all activities and reference publications organized by the Centre. Mariana is currently a member of the editorial team of UNIO - EU law Journal and the official blog associated to it - Thinking & Debating Europe.

Mariana Canotilho is a lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra and at the UMinho Law School - where she has taught at the Masters in European Union Law since its creation. Until her election as a judge of the Constitutional Court, she served as an advisor in the office of the President of the Court. Mariana has developed master's and doctoral studies under the constitutional law of the European Union, being distinguished in 2011 with the Jacques Delors Award. In 2017, she completed her doctorate at the University of Granada with a thesis entitled "The principle of equality in European constitutional law".

The Direction of CEDU welcomes the distinction of one of its most recognized Researchers, wishing it the greatest personal and professional happiness in the new phase that begins.
