From this month of June, and at the invitation of the Europe Direct Information Center of Minho, Prof. Alessandra Silveira, head of the Jean Monnet Chair in European Union Law at UMinho, will speak (as a resident) on the radio program entitled "State of the Union".

This will be monthly program, with a live broadcast on the last Friday of each month (except August), at 7:00 p.m., on the Antena Minho radio, and aims to discuss European news, seeking to inform and elucidate citizens about European issues relevant to the their daily lives.

In addition to Prof. Alessandra Silveira, the program will also have the presence of two other guests, specialists in the topics to be addressed on each program. Moderation will be assured by Dr. Paulo Monteiro, director of Antena Minho radio station and Dr. Alzira Costa, coordinator of the Europe Direct Information Center of Minho.

The first program was held on June 29, at 7:00 p.m., and dealt with the protection of personal data and the new General Regulation on Data Protection (Reg. 2016/679/CE). Pedro Madeira Froufe, current director of UMinho's Centre of Studies in European Union Law (CEDU), and Eng. Alexandre Dalmax, an entrepreneur and consultant at IBM, to develop a project at UPTEC (University of Porto).
