Students from both Gualtar and Azurém Campi have accedpted the invitation of the European Commission Representation in Portugal to participate in the conference "Democracia 4.0" on 8 May. About 50 students will travel to Lisbon on May 7 with travel and lodging expenses fully paid by the organization. UMinho has sent more than 40 videos with questions from students for session II "The New Wave of Digital Democracy", which will be selected by the organization and designed during the conference, and students will be able to interact with the speakers and intervene in person. The session II, in which the students take part, will be broadcasted, from 10am on May 8th, by the Casas do Conhecimento from Gualtar and Azurém (via Live streaming) to members of the minho academy who want to watch and intervene at a distance. In the Casas do Conhecimento, Luís Amaral and João Álvaro Carvalho (Department of Information Systems in Azurém) and Joana Abreu (Department of Public Legal Sciences in Gualtar) will accompany the transmission, and will stimulate debate between those present. Casas do Conhecimento are located respectively in the library of Azurém (first floor) and Gualtar (lounge) and allow the connection between the campuses through the videoconference system. During the broadcast, participants can take part in the conference in Lisbon by posing questions or voting on issues predefined by the organization through the platform https://www.sli.do/
The questions submitted by the students of UM were in the top among the most voted in the slido system.
