PhD candidate in Public Legal Studies, at the School of Law of the University of Minho. MA-Law/Human Rights, by the same School (thesis focused on Immigration and multicultural practices in Europe - is it legitimate to protect the individual from his/her own culture?). Post-graduate studies in European Union Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra. Advanced degree in Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto.

Legal adviser to the Portuguese Confederation of Solidarity Institutions (CNIS): responsible for the operational coordination on relocating asylum-seekers in Portugal from other EU Member States; responsible also for accompanying the European debate on social action. Milieu Consultancy's national expert for Portugal on Justice and Fundamental Rights issues.

- Fundamental rights in the European Union;
- Area of Freedom, Security and Justice;
- External borders, asylum and immigration;

Intern at the Migration and Asylum Department of Caritas Europa (drafting of legislative proposals, monitoring of relevant political developments, lobbying the European institutions, mainly the European Parliament / LIBE Committee).
