Lecturer at the School of Accounting and Administration of Porto (integrated in the Polytechnic Institute of Porto), since October 1997. Doctorate in "Law of the European Union" by the Catholic University of Porto under the guidance of Professor Ana Maria Guerra Martins and Professor Manuel Afonso Vaz (2015); MA in "European Union Law" from the Faculty of Law, University Portucalense (2000) under the guidance of Professor Joaquim da Silva Cunha; Graduate in "European Studies" at the Faculty of Law, University of Coimbra and the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (1995 and 2010); and "European Court of Human Rights" by the Faculty of Law, University of Coimbra (2009); degree in "Law" from the University of Law of Coimbra (1987).
Her main areas of interest are European Union law, international law and constitutional law. She has completed several specialized courses in European Union law area and she is the author of several scientific articles published in national journals. Held public evidence to associate professor with the presentation and defense of the study "The Protection of Fundamental Rights in the European Union" and discussion of three issues related to the teaching area which was open competition. Her doctoral thesis is entitled: "Between limits and expandability: the horizontal clauses of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union" was raised by Professor Maria José Rangel Mosque and Professor Sofia Pais de Oliveira, and was approved unanimously obtaining magna cum laude classification (17 points).
