Maastricht University organized, on April 28, a debate called "First European Debate" between the "European Commission President" candidates for the European Parliament Elections.
Minho University's masters Degree on European Union Law students and undergraduate students asked questions which were transmitted to the candidates during the debate with the indication of their origin.
Jean Claude Juncker (for the European People's Party) from Luxembourg, Martin Schulz (for the socialists) from Germany, Guy Verhofstadt (for the liberals) from Belgium, Alexis Tsipras (for the European United Left) from Greece, and José Bové from France and Ska Keller from Germany (for the Greens) were running to substitute Durão Barroso.
The debate was transmitted live on April 28, from 18h, in Minho University's Law School room 009 - following the debate there was a discussion/work session on the presented proposals among those who were present.
This project was supported by the Centre of Studies in European Union Law (CEDU) and Jean Monnet Chair on European Union Law.
