CEDU celebrated a cooperation protocol with the Foreign Affairs Ministry (General-Direction of European Affairs)
 




A cooperation protocol celebrated between Foreign Affairs Ministry/ General-Direction of European Affairs (DGAE) and Minho University's Centre of Studies in European Union Law (CEDU) entered into force. This partnership is destined to increase Portugal?s participation in the European Union's Litigation, namely in the preliminary rulings at the European Court of Justice (CJEU). The protocol involves Universities located in Lisbon - Clássica, Nova and Católica - and it was signed on 4th April 2014, in the State's Protocol, Palácio das Necessidades, followed by a lunch with the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs, Professor Rui Machete.

DGAE  represents the Portuguese State in the CJEU and coordinates the Portuguese position in all the proceedings pending in the European Union?s Courts in which Portugal has interest. The protocol's object is the technical and juridical cooperation between DGAE and CEDU in the elaboration of pleadings to represent the Portuguese Republic. On the other hand, DGAE has committed to proportionate internships to CEDU's researchers, also in the Permanent Portuguese Representation in the European Union (REPER) in Brussels.
