The applications for 2014 European Elections Award - Best Essay are opened until May 31.

Applicants can present their essay individually or in groups on a recent, relevant and interesting subject regarding the 2014 European Elections. The essays must have a maximum of 20 pages, unprecedented and may be written in English or Portuguese.

The winning essay will receive 2.000,00?, this amount has to be divided if we award more than one essay.

The jury will be composed by three people chosen by Bruno Maçães, State's European Affairs Secretary.

This award is a State's European Affairs Secretary project and it aims to encourage the debate about Europe, democracy and European citizenship as well as citizens' approximation to the European Institutions.

Jacques Delors European Information Centre cooperates in the promotion of this award.
